These cotton tabi socks compliment our getas. Like the getas, they are traditional Japanese footwear that developed in the 15th century. Initially, they were only for the wealthy, but trade enabled them to be worn by people of all classes. Color, and eventually intricate designs, then became the most important aspect of the socks.
