“I’m a Texas girl,” Badu said emphatically.

“It’s a 15 gallon hat, and it’s full of money,” she quipped. She shared that when she works with milliners, she brings a long, rounded wooden block for them to base her hat on. The result is a sky-scraping hat she wears with great pride.
